DESIGNER PUMPKINS (Beginner Friendly)
This fun-filled workshop was designed for makers of all experience levels to serve as an introduction to working with the Iron Orchid Design moulds, air-dry clay and Fusion Mineral paints to create a beautiful one-of-a-kind decorative pumpkin.
During class you will learn the fundamentals of prepping your surface, painting, distressing, design and application of adornments created with air-dry clay.
The cost of this class is $50. A half-pack of air-dry clay, glue, base coat paint and free use of all my moulds and general tool use included in the price of the class.
OF NOTE . . . To keep the cost of the class down, I am allowing you to recycle a foam pumpkin you may already have. When I went to purchase the larger pumpkins I almost fell on the floor. My inexpensive pumpkins I purchased years ago are now sporting a price tag of $27-$40 per pumpkin! With that said, I do have some beautiful large paper mache pumpkins for $10 (my cost) which can be seen in the photo above and can be purchased the day of class. You WILL NOT be able to complete your pumpkin using the watercoloring method the day of class. YOU WILL, however, be able to apply a base coat and prep for finishing at home with dark glaze or watercoloring. I will demo how to watercolor so you can detail paint your pumpkin, if desired, once your clay has had a chance to dry.
If you are a "Messy Marvin", be sure to either bring an apron or wear old clothes.
